Why link assistants
Rather than one assistant that tries to do everything, you can create specialist assistants – each with its own knowledge, tone and purpose – and link them together.
For example, a sales assistant, a technical support assistant and an internal documentation assistant. Users can switch to the one that best fits their question.
Setting it up
Create and train each assistant you want to link.
Note each one’s Assistant ID from its General Information section. (Use the assistant ID, not the record ID.)
Edit the assistant users will start from and go to Linked Assistants.
Enter an Assistant Message Title and Assistant Message explaining that other specialist assistants are available.
In ID List, add the assistant IDs to link, separated by commas or on separate lines.
Label each assistant clearly
In each linked assistant’s AI Assistant Interface, set the Button Text in Linked Assistants – the label users click to switch, such as “Technical support” or “Talk to sales”.
Good to know
- Linking works best when each assistant has a clearly different purpose and separate sources.
- Fill in messages and button labels in every language your users use.
